Computer Operations CC114 Computer Operations Trainee Receives paper shipments, stocks computer room supplies, learns basic printer operations, delivers output to distribution bins. CC214 Computer Operations Specialist All of the above duties. Advanced printer skills (cleaning, job setup, form changes), assisting users at window, console commands for print and job release. CC314 Computer Operations Technician All of the above duties, basic operation skills for monitoring system, answering the telephone, basic troubleshooting of user questions. Data Communications CC113 Computer Trainee Duties include connecting devices (PCs, printers, concentrators, etc.) to the campus network. Usually this would just include the physical connection. CC213 Computer Specialist Same duties as above with more knowledge and experience. CC313 Computer Technician All of the above duties with more extensive experience. Help Desk CC111 Clerical/Administrative Trainee Light office duties (answering telephones, filing, errands, data entry). CC213 Computer Specialist Provide Walk-in/Telephone Consulting on the basics of Macintosh, DOS/Windows/Windows95, IBM Mainframe, and UNIX, with an emphasis on PPP, POP, E-Mail, and Dial-in-services. CC313 Computer Technician All of the above duties with more knowledge and experience, as well as special project assignments which may include PC configuration and assisting customers to prepare output service. Computer Consulting & Support Services CC213 Computer Specialist Handle, with supervision, routine installation and trouble shooting for desktops and networks. CC219 - Microcomputer Lab Consultant II Monitor lab and answer routine questions on related Macintosh, PC, mainframe, and/or UNIX software. Software includes statistical packages, electronic mail, web resources, and more. Basic mainframe consultations may also be involved. CC319 - Microcomputer Lab Consultant III Same as CC219 with ability to answer more complex questions pertaining to PC, Macintosh or Multimedia software and hardware. CC419 - Microcomputer Lab Consultant IV Larger skill set required than CC319. Must be able to work independently and answer more complex questions. May get involved in supporting the operating system, and installing software, hardware, and networks. Business Office CC111 Clerical/Administrative Trainee Taking telephone calls, sinding messages via E-Mail, filing, scheduling conference rooms, photocopying, running errands, learning different types of data entry, reception duties. CC211 Clerical Specialist Same duties as CC111 above with more experience and more advanced data entry duties. CC212 Administrative Specialist Same duties as CC111 above with more experience and more advanced data entry duties. CC311 Clerical Technician Same as CC211 with more extensive experience. CC312 Administrative Technician Same as CC213 with more extensive experience. Production Control CC272 Student Driver (deliveries) The applicant must be able to lift heavy objects, load and unload a van, follow a delivery schedule and perform general clerical work such as photocoying and filing. Also, they must have a valid Connecticut driver's license. Voice Communications CC212 Administrative Specialist Responsible for answering the telephone and helping students who have problems with their telephone bills, would like to sign up for service, would like to upgrade their service or move to another room. There is also participation from the students in developing marketing materials and other support materials for attracting students to use our services. Student Labor Open to all UCONN students, the Student Labor Program offers part-time jobs at Storrs and the regional campuses. Work Study A federally funded aid work program for students with demonstrated financial need as determined by the Student Financial Aid Office. Unlike other forms of financial aid, a Federal Work Study award is not applied to a student's fee bill. The student must secure a job and will be paid bi-weekly for the hours worked. Pay Rates Students are paid based on an established pay scale. The rate of pay for a position is based on the skills and level of experience required for a position. For higher level positions, students must be able to document related work experience.
