Early Localized Infection

• Erythema migrans (skin lesion)

  • Appears within a few weeks of an infected deer tick bite and usually occurs at the site of a bite
  • Starts as a small red spot that expands over days or weeks
  • Sometimes resembles a bull’s eye because of its red rings
