Slide - Precautions When Outdoors

The best way to protect yourself against ticks is to prevent the tick from reach ing your skin. Wear light-colored, long pants tucked into socks. Wear closed-t oed shoes. Ticks do not jump or fly, but grasp passing people and animals from the tips of grass and crawl up on the body. Use a tick repellent. To protect y our pets from Lyme disease, use veterinarian prescribed flea and tick collars an d apply sprays or powders as recommended.
